Niamh is a solicitor in the firm's Employment and Litigation department, which covers all aspects of civil litigation in particular employment, landlord and tenant, property disputes/managed developments, PI defence and debt.

Niamh advises a wide range of clients including financial institutions, State bodies, property developers, private companies, management companies, property management agents and individuals in relation to contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

Prior to joining Kane Tuohy in 2023, Niamh completed her traineeship in Cork where she went on to work as a newly qualified solicitor in the area of Banking, followed by practice in the Asset Finance and Capital Markets department of a Dublin corporate law firm.

Since joining Kane Tuohy, Niamh has gained a broad range of experience advising in relation to employment law issues including the following: -  

• Recruitment;
• Contracts of employment;
• Employee handbooks and policies;
• Claims before the Workplace Relations Commission, Circuit Court and High Court;
• Advising on the Irish legal framework governing the employment relationship including long term absence management, retirement management, management of atypical contracts of employment, enforcement of post-termination obligations, grievance management, management of statutory leave, industrial disputes, rights and duties under employment and equality legislation, illness benefits, and holiday, maternity and parental leave;
• Termination agreements;
• Rights and duties under health and safety legislation;
• Redundancy processes;
• Investigative and disciplinary processes;
• Transfer of Undertakings; and
• Mediation.

Niamh graduated with a BCL in International Law in 2016 and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in March 2021 and has completed the Diploma in Employment Law with the Law Society of Ireland.
